Remember when Timbaland was good?

The first time I heard "Up Jumps The Boogie",

I was at my grandma's house,

watchin music videos on BET,

back when they did that,

and the intro came in with what sounded like "Keep it up",

then Aaliyah singing "We gon' show, you how we party.."

That was the BEST SHIT I HAD HEARD,

and I was an instant fan.

I was SOOO thirsty,

that I went to Walmart and bought the CLEAN ASS single.

Which also lead me to buyin the CLEAN ASS album.

Yea,

I know.

Timbaland, Magoo, Missy, Ginuwine, Aaliyah, and Playa was a CRAZY union because they included ALL aspects of a super group.

That's probably why they were called the "Superfriends".

Mr. Mosley's production though,

was SOO bananas,

That he used the SAME BEAT FOR 3 DIFFERENT SONGS!!!

2. Playa - Cheers 2 U (RIP Static)

I bet you didn't know that,

Did you know he worked with Jodeci?

Probably not.

ANYWAY,

His samples, beats, production, and everything was beYOND awesome.

And as stated in a previous posting,

if you were a music fan during the late 90s into the early 2000s,

when it was good,

then you could NOT turn on the radio withOUT hearing one of his beats.

Like most producers though,

his lyrics weren't ALL that,

BUT,

you could expect some SERIOUS beats.

I mean,

the man had 4 studio albums worth of heat before he went pop with Shock Value,

which subsequently was the demise of his "rap" career,

and lead him to stating that he would no longer be making rap music,

and sticking to pop music.

Not to say that what he has done with Justin wasn't good.

But still,

no bet.

I don't know though....

I guess you can't front a man that wants to make money,

BUT,

J Dilla never sold out.....

marinate.
