Club facebook.

I recall a time,

not that long ago,

when facebook wasn't the public restroom that it is today.

I remember when it was SOOO exclusive that if you wanted to be a part of it,

you would have to petition for your school to gain access.

These were the early years.

Now,

parents,

parents of parents,

siblings,

jobs,

and everybody else,

have gained access to the one exclusive part of most folks college years.

"I use it to keep in touch with folks."

Stop.

"I'm hardly EVER on it."

Stop.

These are a couple of the lies told by the folks who should NOT have pages.

It's like bein at a party with all ya folks,

and ya'll goin in,

and then that one parent walks in,

goes to the middle of the dance floor,

and starts doin the old people dance.

No bet.

I like to think of it as that new club that EVERYONE knows about,

but not everyone can get into.

Other spots try to duplicate this club's atmosphere,

but they always miss in one area.

Then one day,

management decides to make some changes.

folks complain,

but they make the adjustment and STILL come out,

cuz it's STILL fun.

Then one day,

one of these changes loosens up the restrictions,

and folks who you KNOW are NOT supposed to be there,

are there.

The mood changes.

They got a new DJ.

The drinks just are NOT as potent.

The rats are STEADY tryin to take ALL the club pics.

Niggas are rockin the FAKEST Mikes..

And wait,

is that yo mama over there doin the Running Man?!

Like everyone else,

my page is still active.

I still update and add stuff,

yet

it's just not like it was.

I wonder what Tom is doing these days....?

  1. you are 100%. i have like a love hate relationship w/ fb. i do remeber when my school had to fight to get on. now they let the bums, skezzers, lossers, and stalking rapist on the site that i adored. Im not mad, Im not hurt, I understand the evolution of social networking and the need to expand its awesomeness to the common folk. They saw the millions they could make, the governmetn is drooling over exlusive involvement in facebook to extend the patriot act. non the less, just as myspace, facebook too will sizzle out just like online bussinesses of the early 2000's, white airforces, and benie babies. Then someone will start anew site and the shit will happen again. i think its called "insanity"

lol@ the niggas with fake mikes comment
