Onward and Upward

Yesterday,

April 4th, 2011,

marked the 43rd year of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Many people celebrate the man's legacy and birth with a day off considering his contribution to society was immense,

and that right there is a beautiful thing.

My late frat brother was a definite pillar for equal rights,

not just nationally though,

but the entire world.

In August,

the men of Alpha Phi Alpha, as well as other constituents, will be in Washington, DC, for the unveiling of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

I DO plan on attending this, of course.

And,

If you're in the area,

or have some free time,

you should attend as well.

The man stood for equality for all.

Yet,

as we sit and reflect,

has his dream been realized?
