This guy.

I'm down with the whole "planking" thing and such,

BUT

Gilbert Arenas is a dick for this.

Jun 29, 2011

No good.

They been protesting immigration lately and such,

and I understand.

BUT

I can't go out like this.

You not finna have my mouth all open and such.

Jun 27, 2011

I wonder....

I wonder what they talkin bout....

Chicago Break.

Sorry for the delay,

BUT

a bruva was in Chicago ALL last week for National Convention,

AND

the hotel was wack as hale when it came to internet access.

It was SOOOOO good to be back at the crib,

During the day,

I was APhiA.

At night,

I was Torrance.

It's like Maurice said,

"I didn't discard my G.D.I. card when I became an Alpha."

Kickin it with Mac and Bryan were TOP priority.

I got to go to the Taste,

and in doing so,

I got challenged to drink 10 shots of Pepsi Max in 30 sec. at the Pepsi Max booth.

I made it to shot number 3,

that dripped on my shoe,

and then I conceded.

The winner of the challenge was my guy Shawn.

And with his victory,

we ALL got Pepsi Max shirts,

that led to to form the PEPSI MAX TEAM!!!

STILL tryin to figure out why Ryan ain't get one tho...

Later that night/morning,

in Greek town,

we got to witness Bryan get chose by "Hip Hop Tranny" Sidney Starr!!

Yea, THAT Sidney Starr.

I can always guarantee a good time whenever I'm home,

and that's why it's home.

Graduation follies

Graduation is always a fun time.

It shows progression and success.

What you do at your graduation in celebration of completion is up to you at that moment.

In high school,

I did the Harlem Shake.

In college,

I just stood there,

If you're gonna dance,

make sure you know what you're doing AND that the floor isn't too slick AND that you're wearing the proper shoes.

If you're gonna make it rain...

Make sure the principal has an umbrella.

I'm coming home again.

This year's Alpha Phi Alpha National Convention is in Chicago, IL.

Dunn is Done.

One of my FAVORITE Jackass guys,

was in a fatal car accident EARLY this morning.

Dunn was one of my favorite Jackass guys cuz he was too cool,

AND

cuz of that GLORIOUS beard of his.

My prayers go out to his fam and folks.

RIP

Jun 19, 2011

Happy Father's Day!

Aside from the ignorance of my cousin and his "Farther's Day" card to my dad,

I'd like to wish all the REAL fathers and father-figures a HAPPY Father's Day!!!

I got Phillip a sweater AND a bow tie.

Shit was cool until he said,

"I look forward to you teaching me how to tie this"

Can't stunt,

almost got choked up...

Michael Myers got dem werks!

Michael Myers is a scary dude.

Then again,

if you had the family issues that he had,

you'd prolly be a lil off too.

Then again,

white folk problems and black folk problems ALWAYS look different.

Not the point.

I'd be scared too if he was chasin me through some dark dismal alley,

BUT

if I turned around,

and saw him doing this,

all that fear and anxiety would be OUT THE WINDOW!

Jason shoulda came out and held his collar.

40 years ago today,

Lesane Parish Crooks

AKA

Tupac Amaru Shakur was born.

Unfortunately,

the man didn't even make it to see 26.

Recently,

convicted felon,

has confessed to the shooting incident that took place in Quad Studios.

That was back when Tupac got shot up in New York.

It wouldn't be right if I did NOT show the man love.

So with that said,

Happy Birthday Tupac (as I cue up my FAVORITE joint, Do For Love)

RIP.

The boy is bad!

Ya know,

despite certain allegations,

and him being old,

Robert Sylvester Kelly has some hits.

I mean,

Goin ALL THE WAY BACK to the stuff he did with Public Announcement,

the boy was bad.

How bout to this day,

his music is STILL timeless and will get whatEVER mood you want,

going.

Granted,

MOST of his joints were sex-related,

but he had some other hits too.

You got the "Bump and Grind" (the remix was CRAZY!), "Greatest Sex", "Half On A Baby", and "Your Body's Callin" type of joints.

BUT

the man didn't stop there.

Songs like "When A Woman's Fed Up" (the response to "Be Careful"), "A Woman's Threat", and "Don't Put Me Out" spoke on the woman's point of view and dealing with a no-good nigga.

"Fiesta" and "Home Alone" were there to get the party started and have a good time!

He didn't forget about home either.

"Step In The Name Of Love", "Happy People", and "Red Carpet" were for those steppers.

Strictly,

for the steppers.

Songs about pain?

How bout "I Wish" and "Sadie"(original by the Spinners)?

Can't forget "Trade In My Life" and the crossover smash "I Believe I Can Fly" for some inspiration.

The boy is BAD!

Some of my personal favorites include "Slow Wind", "Bad Man", and the fun and silly "Feelin' On Yo Booty".

R. Kelly has some GREAT and TIMELESS music.

Features?

How much time ya got?

That question was rhetorical, considering this is a blog.

just to name a few.

I honestly feel like he is the Prince of my generation.

Like,

Mr. Kelly could STOP making music RIGHT NOW,

and only perform old stuff,

and I GUARANTEE he would sell out EVERY DAMN TIME!

Trey Songz and Chris Brown are cool and all,

but they got a LOOOOOOOOONG way to go...

I don't think black folk are lovin' it

All things considered,

I wonder how the employees feel about this.

I mean,

considering that MOST of them ARE black..

Jun 10, 2011

Congrats, bruh!

I gotta shoutout the man,

The young brother,

and frat,

just won the Burger King Jingle Contest that was showcased on 106th and Park.

Onward and Upward!

Heat.

It's hot outside.

"Melting Niggas" type of hot.

This is hiLARRYous

I recommend this for a good laugh cuz this nigga is hiLARRYous.

Sneaker Friends was dope

Sooo,

I attended Sneaker Friends on Sunday,

and I gotta admit,

it WAS pretty dope.

Greg Street put together a decent event,

and I saw PLENTY of heat.

What was funny is that even though the event was sponsored by adidas,

the footwear status quo was CLEARLY Nike.

Ya boy saw MAAD Mikes, Dunks, and Air Maxes.

And there I was rockin Reeboks.

DJ Clark Kent was rockin the AF1s that Bow Wow was fawning after in the film "Lottery Ticket",

I even spotted some Jeremy Scott joints too.

Vendors traveled from the crib and even Dallas for this look,

and I know they came up.

All in all,

a broham had a good time.

And even though that sneaker culture in Atlanta is kinda typical,

I look forward to the next sneaker event.

Jun 4, 2011

Caillou, reloaded.

Me and Yahree bout to get this "swag bag" movement started seeing as that type of music is selling these days.

My first song is gonna be called "Swagged Up" and this is gonna be the beat:

Swag.

Where is the shit?!

Oh yes,

The shit!

Jun 2, 2011

Jonathan Butler?

Ok.

This is prolly NOT the first time I've heard this song,

considering it dropped in the late 80's,

BUT

I saw the video on VH1 Soul,

and could NOT stop laughing.

Why?

Well,

there are many factors:

Dude is light skinned,

as hell.

He's in black and white.

He's singin his yella ass off.

That classic 80's saxophone.

That classic 80's saxophone break.

That air guitar.

The first 5 seconds of the video sans Shari Headley,

with her CUTE ass!

Oh yea,

Shari Headley was in the joint,

BUT

the name of the song is "Sarah, Sarah".

I don't know...

EITHER WAY,

I can't front like the song is NOT a jam.

I just can't.

BUT

I can,

however,

say that the video is STRAIGHT comedy.

Oh,

AND he's African...

Message.

"Someone in ya face is MUCH different than someone in ya ear."

Sneaker Friends 2011?

Ya know,

as a sneaker head,

I haven't really EVER been to any type of showcases or events like Sneaker Friends.

It's SUPPOSED to be the move this weekend,

AND

it's SUPPOSED to be live,

so we'll see.

My dilemma now tho?

What joints to wear......
