despite certain allegations,
and him being old,
Robert Sylvester Kelly has some hits.
I mean,
Goin ALL THE WAY BACK to the stuff he did with Public Announcement,
the boy was bad.
How bout to this day,
his music is STILL timeless and will get whatEVER mood you want,
going.
Granted,
MOST of his joints were sex-related,
but he had some other hits too.
You got the "Bump and Grind" (the remix was CRAZY!), "Greatest Sex", "Half On A Baby", and "Your Body's Callin" type of joints.
BUT
the man didn't stop there.
Songs like "When A Woman's Fed Up" (the response to "Be Careful"), "A Woman's Threat", and "Don't Put Me Out" spoke on the woman's point of view and dealing with a no-good nigga.
"Fiesta" and "Home Alone" were there to get the party started and have a good time!
He didn't forget about home either.
Strictly,
for the steppers.
Songs about pain?
Can't forget "Trade In My Life" and the crossover smash "I Believe I Can Fly" for some inspiration.
The boy is BAD!
Some of my personal favorites include "Slow Wind", "Bad Man", and the fun and silly "Feelin' On Yo Booty".
R. Kelly has some GREAT and TIMELESS music.
Features?
How much time ya got?
That question was rhetorical, considering this is a blog.
Aaliyah, Notorious BIG, Jay-Z (before the drama), Keri Hilson, Usher, Twista, Rick Ross, and The Pussycat Dolls,
just to name a few.
I honestly feel like he is the Prince of my generation.
Like,
Mr. Kelly could STOP making music RIGHT NOW,
and only perform old stuff,
and I GUARANTEE he would sell out EVERY DAMN TIME!
Trey Songz and Chris Brown are cool and all,
but they got a LOOOOOOOOONG way to go...
